Dr. Sumsum P Sunny
Dr. Sumsum P Sunny is currently working as Senior House Officer in Head and Neck Oncology, Mazumdar Shaw Medical Center, Narayana Health. His post-graduate training was in MDS (Oral Medicine and Radiology) and completed in 2013 from K.L.E.s’ Institute of Dental Sciences, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. After MDS training he joined in Head and Neck Oncology department of Mazumdar-Shaw Medical Center, Bangalore. The primary responsibilities have been to lead the departmental cancer outreach programs and Oral care management of head and neck oncology patients. Presently his focus is to conduct outreach program for early detection and prevention of oral cancer and establish sustainable module for prevention of the same through early detection. His focus of the research group is on developing a non-invasive technique for early detection of oral cancer. The Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance awarded Research Training Fellowship for him in 2016. He is also a part of two NIH grant collaborated with University of California, Irvine (2013) and University of Arizona, Arizona (2016) focusing on oral cancer and precancer imaging in the development of Point of care diagnostic tool.
Zeba is currently pursuing her M.Tech final year in VLSI & Embedded System at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology Bangalore. She has completed her B.E in Electronics & communication (2016). She has done projects on stress indicator, 3D LED displays using Arduino and Micro heater at MEMS research centre NMIT. She has skills in Arm cortex M3 & VLSI designing using Cadence tools.
Ayesha Siddiqa is pursuing M.Tech in VLSI Design and Embedded System at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology ,Bangalore. She has done BE in Electronics and communication and she has worked on a project based on image processing (Face Recognition toward Multivariant uncontrolled faces) at ISRO. She has worked on cadence tool and is interested in embedded systems.

Devbalaji Prabhakar completed his integrated Master’s degree in Medical Nanotechnology (M.Tech) and Bioengineering (B.Tech) from SASTRA University, India, in 2016. He is proficient in bioengineering, nanotechnology, electronics and software engineering and engages in interdisciplinary projects. He was a Research Assistant at Shafiee lab, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He has founded an e-commerce business, ShopAtOnce, which provides groceries and everyday needs to its users. He has worked in several interdisciplinary projects in the last four years. Some of them include, a microfluidic platform to screen chemotherapeutic drugs based on electrical impedance, construction of a 3D bioprinter, exhaled breath analyzer, construction of an Android mobile based spray pyrolysis setup, Internet of Things (IoT) based automation platform, home automation using Android mobile, ATmega microcontrollers, arduino, Raspberry pi, 433 MHz RF module, HC-05 bluetooth module and WiFi. He has published the following Android applications in Google Play Store, ShopAtOnce, Gambol, Bunk Logs.
She is currently pursuing her research in Semiconductor Device Physics on “Fabrication and Characterization of 2D material based device” in NITK, Mangalore through IISc Bangalore. She graduated Master’s in Applied Electronics from NIT, Trichy. She is well versed in semiconductor device fabrication methods. She worked in NPMASS projects on MEMS Pressure Sensors and Micropump Check Valves at IIT Madras as a part of her Master’s thesis. Expertise in Wet Chemistry, Diffusion, Lithography, Deposition Methods in semiconductor and solar cell manufacturing industries at SITAR (DRDO) Bangalore, TATA BP Solar – Bangalore, Websol Energy System Limited, Kolkata and Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE), IISc Bangalore, before joining BEES-DESE, IISc Bangalore.
She is also interested in Traveling, Explore New Places, Music, Classical Dance, Handicrafts, Cooking, House Keeping, Reading Poems and Fictional Novels.
