She has completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore in 2017. She had previously worked as a project intern at Biocon Pvt Ltd where she worked on Strain improvement for higher productivity of Secondary Metabolites using Classical Mutagenesis. She has also worked as an observatory intern at Bangalore Hospital under departments of microbiology, haematology, histopathology and biochemistry.
Her interests lie in microbiology, molecular biology as well as being part of NGO’s like Igniting young minds-Bengaluru Chapter, Youth Red Cross and I-Care group that benefit the society.
K. Devi Priya is currently working as a Research Intern in BEES Laboratory. She is a postgraduate student pursuing Masters of Technology in Mechatronics Engineering at NIT Karnataka(2016-2018). She fosters a keen interest in Biomedical Engineering, Microsystems, and allied fields. Currently, she is working on Microfluidic Systems and Protein-Protein interaction analysis ,design and fabrication.
Pradeep H P hails from the heritage city Mysuru. He has won the prestigious National Post-Doctoral Fellowship from Science and Engineering Research Board, Government of India. Pradeep has a profound interest in biofilm biology and his recent research interest is to develop microengineered platforms for the early detection of biofilms in medical implants and clinical samples. He obtained his Master’s and Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Mysore, Mysuru. Pradeep was a recipient of the Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship from the Department of State, The United States of America and Senior Research Fellowship from Indian Council of Medical Research. His Ph.D. dissertation focused on the role of biofilms in promoting antimicrobial resistance in Staphylococci. As a Fulbright visiting scholar, he worked on mixed Staphylococcal biofilms at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. He has also qualified Karnataka State Eligibility Test for Lectureship and while pursuing his Master’s he received the Summer Research Fellowship from the Indian Science Academies’.
Aparna N V
Aparna N V completed her Bachelor’s degree (B.E) in Medical Electronics from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru, India in 2017. Her interests lie in biomedical engineering applications, instrumentation as well as engaging in interdisciplinary projects. She was a part of the undergraduate project team in Medical Imaging Research Centre (MIRC) where she worked on very low field MRIs. She has also worked on other projects like a speech synthesizer that aids communication for speech impaired patients using Arduino, a robotic arm that performs wash mechanism in biochemistry analysers, designing and building gradient coils.
She completed her Bachelor’s degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata and Master’s Degree from IIT Madras, both in Electrical Engineering. She worked in Qualcomm Bangalore Design Center as a front end RTL Engineer. After that she worked as Teaching and Research Assistant for one year in North Carolina State University, USA and for five years in Western University, Canada. She has extensively worked in Processor Architectures, Arithmetic Logical Unit of Crypto Processors, Reliable Fault Detection Architecture, Error-Control Coding and Code-based Cryptography. Now as a Research Assistant in BEES Lab, she is trying to apply her knowledge of ASIC implementation into Biomedical Engineering.
Gulabi Mandal completed her Electronics and Communication Engineering (B.Tech) from Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore, India, in 2017. She is proficient in Analog and Digital Electronics, Embedded Systems Engineering, Embedded C Programing, PYTHON Programming and has also engaged in interdisciplinary projects. She was an intern at M/S Techno Science Instruments during her BE. Her project, The Smart Water Meter using Wireless Networking using GSM modules and PIC microcontroller, proposed a new volume based tariff system for distribution of water. Her project got selected for the 40th series SPP,KSCST state level exhibition 2016-17. Apart from academics she also has a passion for hockey. She trains at Karnataka State Hockey Academy (KSHA) and will be giving her selections for the Women’s Senior National Hockey Team, Sept-2017.
